Pure DLX 3 Speed Tricycle - [Sold] | ||
Depending on the source, you may fine that Pure
bicycles are or are not part of the Trek company. This Pure bike has "Bontrager" on the chain guard, the paint color and finishing touches, everything about this tricycle says "Trek" to me, but Pure does seem to have a separate corporate identity. |

So, I'll just say, take one close look at this tricycle, and if you know anything about adult trikes, it should be immediately apparent that this is one of the finest, best made adult tricycles made. It's hands down better than a Schwinn Meridian like you'll find at Wally World. It's more refined than a Worksman industrial trike - even though those are very sturdy. It's a step up from a Miami Sun. There's no comparison at all with the cheap no-name trikes independent sellers import from China and elsewhere. |

Trek and Electra don't want to be known as tricycle
makers. This looks like it comes from the same designers and factories. The paint is a subtle metallic champagne color instead of a primary color. This has a fine fit and finish, powder coated instead of galvanized. The rear basket - instead of a funky wire basket with big holes is a very interesting expanded metal with a custom, snap-in cloth liner that has zippered pockets, a velcro net section, and a built-in permanently attached cover. (See top picture for liner, I did not take a separate photo.) |

There's a 3 speed drive train with a coaster brake as well as the front hand brake. The bike has an aluminum frame, and an aluminum alloy crank and chain wheel instead of stamped steel. It has fenders on all three wheels. This trike rolls more smoothly and coasts farther and faster than any other trike I've had, and I've had several kinds. This tricycle has 24 inch wheels. I'd say it is too big for anyone under 5' 2," too small for someone over 6 feet. The basket is big enough for a dog probably up to about 45 pounds, and the very nice finish quality and custom liner would make it a luxurious ride for your favorite fur person. |

If it's so great, why am I selling it? Fair
question! My wife uses a Worksman 20 inch trike, this one is a little big for her, but small for me. I just built myself a monstrous trike from an 26 inch Electra Cruiser and a bolt on rear axle. Both of our trikes are electrified. I've got 3 tricycles and 8 other bicycles at present. I build and restore bikes, ride them a while, get tired of them, and rebuild new ones... Some of them gotta go... I'd keep them all but my garage is too full. |
